II King’s Cup Spanish Absolute Championship
El campeonato se celebrará en el Centro Hípico
Yeguada La Beata entre los días 18 y 21 del mes
de junio. Esta competición trata de que el caballo
realice una serie de ejercicios en los distintos aires
(paso, trote y galope) atendiendo las órdenes que
su jinete le da. La Real Federación Hípica Española
(RFHE) menciona que las pruebas serán por primera
vez puntuables para la Copa ANCCE (Asociación
Nacional de Criadores de Pura Raza Española).
The Championship will be held at the Yeguada La Beata
Equestrian Centre from the 18th to the 21st of June. The
competition will require horses to perform a series of exercises
in distinct disciplines (stride, trot, and gallop) on the
orders of their handlers. La Real Federación Hípica
Española (RFHE) (The Royal Spanish Equestrian
Federation) has announced the trials will for the first time be
scored by the Copa ANCCE (Asociación Nacional de
Criadores de Pura Raza Española) (National Breeders
Association of Pure Spanish Breeds)

astillo de Locubín rinde su particular homenaje a uno de los productos
más afamados de su huerta: la cereza. Desde hace 26
años, se organizan una serie de actividades gastronómicas, culturales
y deportivas que atraen cada año a un mayor número de visitantes al
municipio. Entre ellas, destaca la exposición gastronómica de postres,
licores y cócteles y platos especiales, en los que el fruto rojo es el
ingrediente primordial. También hay un concurso de calidad de cerezas,
exposiciones, venta de cerezas y productos locales, animaciones
infantiles, ruta turística en autobús, actuaciones musicales, verbenas,
degustaciones de la típica “manta castillera” o del “gazpacho con
cerezas”, torneos de fútbol, de petanca y tiro al plato. En definitiva,
tres días intensos donde el preciado fruto se convierte en protagonista
de unas fiestas con un marcado carácter popular.
Castle of Locubín pays homage to one of the most famous products from its
orchard, the cherry. Going back 26 years, the municipality has organised
gastronomic, cultural and sporting activities that attract a large number of
visitors to the municipality each year. Among these, the deserts, liquor, and
cocktails and special dishes gastronomic exposition stands out with the red
fruit as the principle ingredient. There will also be a contest judging the quality
of the fruit, expositions, sale of cherries and local products, shows for
kids, tour bus, musical performances, fairs, typical “manta castillera” or
“gazpacho with cherries” tasting, football tournaments, boles and skeet
shooting. Surely, three intense days where the precious fruit is transformed
into the star of the show.

arengar a los jiennenses en el asedio
moro. Para festejarlo, el

teatro y competiciones deportivas.

Manolo García, el día 11 de junio en
el Auditorio de La Alameda.

l solsticio de verano, la noche más
corta del año, tiene una enorme
tradición en las celebraciones populares
de muchos municipios de la pro
vincia de Jaén. Montizón y Navas de
San Juan festejan su patrón con suelta
de vaquillas. El fuego y la magia se
unen en Alcalá la Real cuando una
bruja de trapo desciende por el cam
panario de la Iglesia de San Juan para
ser quemada.
The Summer solstice, the shortest night
of the year, has an enormous tradition
with the many celebrations in many of
the provincial municipalities of Jaén.
Montizón and Navas de San Juan celebrate
their saint by letting loose “vaquillas”
(small cows). Fire and magic come
together in Alcalá la Real when a stuffed
witch descends from the bell tower of
the Church of Jan Juan and then burned.
Virgin of the Chapel Fair
The Virgin of the Chapel festivities
for the saint of the capital of Jaén
memorialise the descent of the virgin
on the night between June 10th
and the 11th of the year 1430 to
help the Jiennenses against the
Moorish assault. To celebrate the
city hall organizes an intense cultural
program that includes musical
performances, theatre, and sporting
competitions. Standing out is the
concert by Manolo García on the
11th of June in the La Alameda
Auditorium.
